It is our pleasure to announce the 4th European Immunology Workshop (EVIW) to be held in EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, UK, 2
nd – 4
th SEPTEMBER 2012. The meeting will be held in the
Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE), in the very heart of the city.
Since 2006 the EVIW has been held as a satellite meeting to the
European Congress of Immunology (ECI), this year to be held in GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, UK, 5
th – 8
th SEPTEMBER 2012. There are extensive
travel links between Glasgow and Edinburgh. To reflect the special association between EVIW and ECI, all delegates wishing to attend both meetings will receive a 10% discount on their registration fees. Members of the BSI can register for each meeting at a discounted rate.
The EVIW
programme reflects current trends and new developments in veterinary immunology. There are three Plenary Sessions comprising keynote lectures delivered by invited, internationally-recognised experts, and six Concurrent Sessions that include invited speakers and presentations from selected delegate
abstracts. There are two dedicated Poster Sessions to allow ample time for in depth discussions and personal meetings. Coffee breaks and lunch breaks will also provide time to interact with delegates and sponsors.
Edinburgh is a vibrant city and the 4
th EVIW coincides with the end of the
Edinburgh International Festival, which delegates may wish to take advantage of. However, please be advised to book
accommodation for the meeting as soon as possible since the city will be very busy and hotel rooms are at a premium. The
social events at EVIW include an opening ceremony on the evening of 2
nd September and a Scottish ceilidh at
Ghillie Dhu on the evening of 4
th September. These events are included in the delegate registration fee. Additionally, the opening ceremony will directly precede a public
Fireworks Display from the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle, a unique experience.
On behalf of EVIG and the Organising committee of the 4th EVIW, we look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh.
