A postdoctoral position in Immunology is available at the Immunophysiopathology of Infectious Diseases Department at the Institut Pasteur de Dakar, under the supervision of Dr Inès Vigan-Womas.
This multidisciplinary project will combine local pathogen sequencing surveillance and clinical epidemiology with local immunological understanding and tools in order to speed up the discovery of new diagnostic tools and new vaccine candidates. The immunological studies will extend to the rapid discovery of novel monoclonal antibodies against VoCs that are critical tools for probing protein structure, key reagents for differentiating variant proteins, and potential therapeutic monoclonal antibody drugs. The applicant will benefit from the multidisciplinary research environment, infrastructure and platforms provided by the Institut Pasteur de Dakar. He/she will participate actively to the development of the immunological platform and tools. He/she will join a collaborative international project involving partners within and beyond campus.
Candidate qualification and selection criteria: They are seeking highly motivated, creative, dynamic and enthusiastic postdoctoral fellows, able to work independently and to supervise PhD student and Masters, with excellent communication skills. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in immunology. This project will require a wide variety of techniques including multi-parametric flow cytometry, B and Tcells stimulation/ImmunoSpot, cell sorting, single cell molecular profile analyses and B-cell receptor repertoire analyses applied to the study of human cohorts. Extensive experiences in immunological and molecular techniques are essential.
Application: Candidates should send their application including CV, a brief description of research accomplishments, list of publications, cover letter and contact for at least two referees into a single PDF file to Inès VIGAN-WOMAS (Ines.firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com). Selected candidates will be contacted for video interview.
