
In this workshop students will develop their understanding of the role the immune system plays in protecting the body from pathogens, the types of vaccines and how they protect the body from pathogens and recognise the importance of vaccination in stopping pathogen spread and providing herd immunity. School workshop
For the delivery of a classroom workshop, including an interactive experiment with whole class participation, for children aged 11-14, you will need:
- The PowerPoint presentation to be delivered by a facilitator (BSI immunologist or teacher)
- The facilitator guide to aid delivery
- The printed student handout sheets
- The template Excel spreadsheet
Home school teaching
To deliver this (slightly adapted version) as a home schooling activity to a smaller group/individual child aged 11-14, you will need:
