BSI Congress 2017 a great success

The 2017 British Society for Immunology Congress, which took place in Brighton on 4-7 December, has now come to an end.  We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our speakers, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates who helped to make the Congress a success.  Thank you too to our wonderful Congress Committee, and in particular our outgoing Congress Secretary, Leonie Taams, for all her hard work and dedication in bringing together such an excellent line up of sessions and speakers.  In total, we welcomed over 1,250 attendees through the doors at Brighton - a new record for our Congress as a stand alone event.  All abstracts from the Congress are still available to read on the Congress website. You can also view all the photos from the event on our Flickr channel

Congratulations go to our prize winners from the Bright Sparks in Immunology sessions and poster prizes.  You can read more about them here. Additionally, we were delighted to present our inaugural Immunology Teaching Excellence Award to Andrew Foey from University of Plymouth.

Delegates will all shortly receive an email containing a link to a feedback survey.  Please do take the time to fill this out and tell us about your experiences at the BSI Congress.  It is only through hearing from you what you liked and what we could do better that we can make future Congresses even better!  Once you have returned your survey, you will be sent your certificate of attendance.

Congress Committee

If you enjoyed this year's event and would like to get involved in helping us to plan future Congresses, we do currently have vacancies for three general members, one clinical member and one early career member on our Congress Committee. You can find out more information here and the application deadline is noon on Friday 12 January.

Next year

Unfortunately, there is no British Society for Immunology Congress in 2018.  However, on the definite plus side, we are all off to Amsterdam for the European Congress of Immunology, taking place on 2-5 September 2018 (abstract submission opens in January).  The BSI Congress will return in 2019 when we look forward to welcoming you all to Liverpool on 2-5 December 2019.
