The 2022 British Society for Immunology Congress, which took place in Liverpool on 5–8 December, has now come to an end. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our speakers, presenters, chairs, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates who helped to make the Congress a success. Thank you too to our wonderful Congress Committee, and in particular our Congress Secretary, Professor Mark Coles, for all their hard work and dedication in bringing together such an excellent line up of sessions and speakers. In total, we welcomed over 1,700 attendees both in Liverpool and online – yet another new record for our Congress as a stand-alone event! All abstracts are still available to read on the Congress website and attendees will soon be contacted about how to access the recordings of different sessions (dependent on approval from the speaker).
Our congratulations go to our poster prize winners and winners from the Bright Sparks in Immunology sessions. You can read more about them here. We were also delighted to award honorary lifetime membership to Professor Ian MacLennan and Professor Faith Osier during the opening ceremony. You can read more about our new Honorary Members here.
During Congress, our Annual General Meeting marked the official handover from our outgoing President, Professor Arne Akbar, to the incoming President, Professor Tracy Hussell. Hear what Professor Akbar and Professor Hussell said here.
Delegates should now have received an email containing a link to a feedback survey. Please do take the time to fill this out and tell us about your experiences at the BSI Congress. It is only through hearing from you what you liked and what we could do better that we can make future Congresses even better! Once you have returned your survey, you will be sent your certificate of attendance.
