The British Society for Immunology is looking for a new member to join our Congress Committee. We are seeking one General Member (at any stage of their career) to join the Committee from 2019.
The primary responsibility of the Congress Committee is to develop, oversee and deliver the scientific programme for the BSI Congress. The committee reviews and approves proposed sessions and has oversight over the abstract submission and review process. Congress Committee members are also involved in organising and chairing specific sessions as required.
There are additional opportunities for members of BSI Congress Committee to become involved (on behalf of the BSI) in various elements of other major international meetings such as the European Congress of Immunology and the International Congress of Immunology.
Members sit on the committee for four years and are expected to attend quarterly meetings, some of which are conducted by teleconference. For more information and the full terms of reference, please visit the Congress Committee page on our website.
If you are interested in joining the Congress Committee, please submit a summary of your studies/career and a statement of what you would bring to the committee (500 words maximum) to Fatima Rahman-Ali at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 11 January 2019. You must be a BSI member to apply. Applications will be reviewed by Gary Entrican (Congress Secretary) and Doug Brown (CEO).
