After the success of this year's mentoring pilot, we are pleased to launch the 2019 BSI Mentoring Scheme.
The programme will follow a similar format to the pilot programme run this year. 12-15 early career scientists will be paired up with experienced immunologists from different host institutions. Over a 12 month period, mentors and mentees will hold a series of meetings that can be used to discuss career development, barriers faced at work and overcoming tough work situations.
The BSI see mentoring as a two way relationship that is beneficial to both mentor and mentee, allowing both parties to gain valuable insight into the other career whilst being on hand to offer advice and support when able to.
The mentoring scheme will be a long distance relationship, with the aim of meetings being held via Skype, telephone or email. We feel that a more honest and beneficial mentoring relationship will be created when mentors and mentees from different host institutions are paired together.
***The application deadline has been extended until Monday 29 October 2018***
Applications close on 21 October 2018. For further information on the 2019 BSI Mentoring Scheme and details of how to apply to get involved, take a look at our BSI Mentoring webpage.
