The British Society for Immunology has released a statement in support of the recent General Medical Council Review of Training in Allergy and Immunology.
This review focused on the delivery of postgraduate education programmes in the medical specialities of allergy and immunology and considered the policies, processes and systems in place to support them. It recommended that a common two-year training period for allergy and immunology should be introduced. The BSI welcomes these recommendations and looks forward to working with the relevant bodies to develop a strategy to ensure allergy and immunology medical training meets the needs of patients in our healthcare system in the years ahead.
