On Thursday 26 March 2020, the British Society for Immunology is holding a mass public engagement day to celebrate the importance of vaccines and the fundamental role of immunology research. This will feed into wider activities being held in the UK to champion the crucial role that vaccination plays in advancing global public health.
For the success of the project, we need BSI members to deliver public engagement events or activities on Thursday 26 March 2020, focussed on vaccines. We are asking BSI members to submit proposals to a new dedicated grant scheme, through a short application form. As well as funding of up to £500, the BSI will provide support, advice and guidance throughout.
If you’d like to be involved but don’t have an idea for a project, we are also developing a vaccines public engagement kit, aimed at families and school children.
This is your chance to join an important and meaningful movement, as we spearhead the conversation on childhood vaccinations. This is a unique opportunity to inspire the public with your passion for immunology and support the BSI in celebrating the global impact of vaccines in saving lives and improving health.
To find out more about the grant scheme and to apply, please visit the Celebrate Vaccines grant page. The deadline for applications is Monday 3 February 2020.
For further information, or to discuss ideas or queries, please get in touch with BSI Public Engagement Officer, Erika Aquino, as soon as possible.
