As many of you will be aware, the BSI is running a Celebrate Vaccines campaign on Thursday 26 March to highlight the importance of vaccination in improving global public health. Part of this campaign was due to be a series of public engagement events taking place around the country to allow our members to go out and speak directly to members of the public about how vaccines work and why they’re important. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, we have decided to postpone this face-to-face element of our activities. We would like to extend our huge thanks to all the BSI members who volunteered to run events. We plan to reschedule these for later in the year.
For 26 March, we still plan to go ahead with our online #CelebrateVaccines campaign and make a loud noise from the research community to support vaccinations. We hope you’ll agree with us that this is an important time for us to put across the positive message of how vaccines improve global public health. To this end, we will release a number of resources over the next week including a social media toolkit, a new section of our website, new animations and some wonderful educational resources on vaccination.
We know we can rely on all our wonderful BSI members to get involved in this campaign and tell the world why it’s important for us to support vaccination. Keep an eye on our website for more details over the next week.
