Coming soon – keep an eye out for a call for nominations for key positions including President, Treasurer, Trustee and several Forum positions, including Early Career representative and Regional representative for Wales. The nominations period will open in February, and the elections will be in March. Full details and exact dates will be confirmed shortly. Interested in helping to organise Congress 2017 and beyond?

The BSI is looking for a new PhD/Early Career member for its Congress Committee. The primary focus of the committee is to be responsible for the planning and delivery of the BSI Congress. In particular, the committee reviews and approves the scientific programme for Congress, and are involved, as required, in organising and chairing specific sessions, and reviewing abstracts. It also plans events such as public engagement activities linked to the conference, and has responsibility for budget-planning and conference organisation. This role will take a particular interest in putting together the Bright Sparks session at Congress.

Members sit on the committee for four years and are expected to attend quarterly meetings. For more information and the full terms of reference please visit our Governance page

If you are interested in joining this committee, please submit max. 500 words outlining a summary of your studies/career and what you would bring to the committee, to Emilie Thomas, Committee & Governance Manager, at e.thomas@immunology.org by 12pm on Friday 27 January. We welcome applications from PhD/Early Career (no more than 3 years’ post-doc) members of the BSI. Applications will be reviewed by Leonie Taams (Congress Secretary), Gary Entrican (Congress Secretary elect), and Jo Revill (CEO).
