BSI Committee Elections 2017 - Nominations open on Monday 20 February - Check your email then for a message from Electoral Reform Services.
We are looking for nominations to fill various roles on the Board of Trustees and Forum.
How to apply: If you wish to stand for any of the roles below, you must be a member of the BSI, and be nominated by two other full members of the BSI. You will need to complete some contact information, and a 500-word statement summarising your career history and what you would bring to the role. We encourage you to also upload a photograph of yourself.
If required, an election will be held April – May. The successful Forum and Trustee candidates will take up their role from July, and the President and Treasurer will start officially as from January 2018, having first shadowed the incumbent from July 2017.
The available roles are:
Board of Trustees: (see role descriptions on nominations page for full information)
President - Peter Openshaw is re-standing as President, but members are also invited to stand for this position.
Treasurer - Lindsay Nicholson is stepping down after serving two terms
Trustee- This is a general Trustee position. Leonie Taams has stepped down as Trustee, as she has been appointed as Editor-in-Chief of CEI. She remains Congress Secretary until the end of 2017.
Regional representative – Wales - This is open to any member working in Wales; Matthias Eberl stepped down as Wales rep and was subsequently elected to the Board of Trustees.
Early career representative - Maximum of three years’ postdoc; Beth Holder has finished her term of office on the Forum after serving four years.
