The British Society for Immunology is pleased to announce a new series of webinars: ‘Connecting on coronavirus: the expert hub’. Our aim is to provide immunologists with a platform to keep informed with the latest developments on the Coronavirus outbreak by sharing relevant and timely information from expert sources.
We’re in an unprecedented crisis in which constant global relief efforts result in around the clock activity. Now more than ever, we need to keep-up-to-date and stay connected within the immunology community.
The series will consist of both educational webinars looking into what we know so far about the science behind the Coronavirus, and rapid response sessions to discuss new and significant studies as soon as they’re made available.
As a part of our commitment to the rapid dissemination of any information which may contribute to the understanding and treatment of COVID-19, all the webinars will be free to view. We encourage you to spread the word to your colleagues in other disciplines.
We’re currently setting up the series programme and we’d like to hear from you. Are there any topics in particular you’d like us to cover? Have you seen a new journal article that you would like to be discussed? If you’re working on any relevant areas and you’re willing to share your expertise, please do get in touch. The scientific community plays a crucial role in the battle against Coronavirus – we want to raise your voice.
The first webinar of the series will take place on Thursday 2 April 2020 from 13:00 to 14:00 BST. This session will be hosted by BSI President, Professor Arne Akbar, on the topic 'The impact of altered immunity during ageing on SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infection'. More information and to register.
