A message from BSI President, Peter Openshaw:
“After three years at the helm of the British Society for Immunology, Jo Revill, our CEO, has tendered her resignation. We will be very sorry to see her go, but delighted that she will take up her new position as Chief Executive Officer at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in June 2018. Being appointed to such a major role is a remarkable accolade and we are pleased that Jo has been able to develop appropriate skills for her new role whilst serving the Society.
“During her time with the BSI, Jo has reformed and invigorated the organisation, providing the leadership and insight to build the support we offer to the immunological community. She worked energetically and closely with the Trustees to develop and implement our ambitious 5-year strategic plan, placing a firm focus on expanding our horizons to engage with policymakers, media and the public to ensure immunology is effectively represented on the wider stage. Through her passionate and effective leadership, Jo leaves the organisation in a very healthy position to build on our current successes and deliver our mission to promote excellence in immunology and support for the membership.
“The Board of Trustees and the team at the BSI would like to thank Jo for her intense dedication, hard work and commitment during her time with us. We offer her warm congratulations on her exciting new role and wish her all the best for the future.
“Jo will remain with the BSI until the end of May 2018, working with the Trustees to ensure a smooth transition.
“We will now start the process of recruiting a new CEO and we will bring you further updates in due course.”
