Soapbox Science is a novel public outreach platform for promoting women scientists and the science they do. These events transform public areas into an arena for public learning and scientific debate: a touring Hyde Park Corner for scientists!
The BSI sponsored Rachel Williams from the University of Newcastle to take part in the Newcastle event on 27 June. Her talk was on ‘Inflammation – what, why and ow!’, looking at the body’s response when sticks and stones break your bones. You can read more about the event and Rachel’s participation on their blog.
