The British Society for Immunology is proud to offer our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion activity grant scheme to help organisations and individuals fund activities and events that promote diversity and inclusion across the immunology community and the wider biomedical sciences.

These ambitious and inspiring activities aim to accelerate culture change and promote visibility with respect to equality, diversity and inclusion. Over the course of the grants, these activities will promote a more diverse, fair and inclusive immunology community.

Projects funded in 2023

The BSI was delighted to fund the following projects in the 2023 round of this grant scheme:

  • Laura Eghobamien, Black Medical Scientific Network, Celebrating Black Female Scientists
  • Swetha Kannan, University of Cambridge, Pushing the boundaries of immunology in low- and middle-income countries
  • Dr Jason Mooney, University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Immunology EDI Summer School
  • Dr Antonio Riva, King’s College London, All About Sex: Unravelling Sex-Based Differences in Immunology

Congratulations to all the awardees of this year's grant. The review panel noted the strength of the applications and we look forward to seeing these projects and activities progress in the coming year. We would also like to thank the review panel judges for their hard work and diligence in marking the applications.
