The British Society for Immunology Congress is our flagship event attracting over 1,000 immunologists from around the world. It is held two out of every three years, taking a break in the year that the European Congress of Immunology is held.
We regret that the British Society for Immunology Congress 2020 has been postponed until 2021 in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
BSI Congress was originally due to take place from Monday 30 November to Thursday 3 December 2020 in Edinburgh UK but, due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, it has now been rescheduled to Sunday 28 November to Wednesday 1 December 2021.
In its place, we are excited to present our first two-day virtual scientific conference, ‘Connecting immunology in the time of COVID-19’, taking place on Tuesday 1 December and Wednesday 2 December 2020.
The scientific committee have worked hard to put together an inspiring programme which will include sessions on cancer immunology, immunotherapy, vaccinology, infection challenge models and COVID-19 immunology.
Additionally, we will showcase some of our outstanding early career researchers through our Bright Sparks initiative. We're also delighted to announce Professor Garry Nolan from Stanford University and Professor Akiko Iwasaki from Yale University as our two keynote speakers. Join online from anywhere in the world to catch up on the latest immunology research.
The 2019 British Society for Immunology Congress took place in Liverpool on 2-5 December 2019. A special thank you to all our speakers, presenters, chairs, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates who helped to make the Congress a success. Thank you as well to our wonderful Congress Committee, and in particular our Congress Secretary, Gary Entrican, for all their hard work in lining up a brilliant programme of sessions and speakers. This year we welcomed over 1,400 attendees - another new record for our Congress. All abstracts from the Congress are still available to read on the Congress website.
The 2017 British Society for Immunology Congress took place in Brighton on 4-7 December. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our speakers, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates who helped to make the Congress a success. Thank you too to our wonderful Congress Committee, and in particular our outgoing Congress Secretary, Leonie Taams, for all her hard work and dedication in bringing together such an excellent line up of sessions and speakers. In total, we welcomed over 1,250 attendees through the doors at Brighton - a new record for our Congress as a stand alone event. All abstracts from the Congress are still available to read on the Congress website. You can also view all the photos from the event on our Flickr channel.
The BSI/NVVI Annual Congress 2016 was held jointly with the Dutch Society of Immunology. We would like to thank the Congress organising commitees, led by Leonie Taams and Janneke Samsom, and all the speakers, chairs and exhibitors who helped to make the event such a success. Thank you too to all our delegates - we hope you enjoyed it and it provided you with lots of immunology insights and networking opportunities. All delegates will have been emailed a feedback questionnaire about the Congress. Please do fill this out and return it to us - it's really important for the planning of next year's event that we know what you liked and didn't like and how we can improve. You will receive your certificate of attendance upon return of this questionnaire.
You can still read all the abstracts from Congress on our Congress website and view photos from the event on our Flickr channel. We've also created a Storify to summarise what you told us you enjoyed most about the event via social media.
