Call for members to participate in public engagement focus group

Two people in conversation

The British Society for Immunology recently published our public engagement strategy outlining our commitment to increasing public understanding of immunology to make a positive impact on health.

To continue our mission to support our community and encourage immunologists to engage with the public, we are inviting BSI members to participate in our public engagement focus groups and help shape our future work in this area.

Our aim is to hear from people with different backgrounds and experiences to enable us to better understand the community’s needs. We want the focus groups to:

  • Inform our public engagement activities, including funding and training
  • Establish a mechanism to communicate opportunities and share lessons learnt in the area

We want to encourage all members to consider taking part in this initiative, whether you have lots of public engagement experience to share, are new on your journey or are keen to start.

The upcoming session is taking place online on Thursday 13 July 12:00-13:30 BST.

If you’re interested in making a difference and supporting the Society’s mission, please email our Public Engagement Manager, Erika Aquino, at e.aquino@immunology.org by Monday 26 June outlining why you’d like to join the focus group (max. 100 words).
