Information for immunologists

The British Society for Immunology media office provides support to members on engaging with journalists either about their own research or commenting on other stories in the news.  We work with you to:

  • produce press releases on articles published in Society journals or presented at Society events
  • provide independent comment on stories in the news and address scientific inaccuracies
  • provide media training opportunities.

Guidance

We are happy to provide guidance to members on any queries they have about working with the media.  Please contact our Communications Manager, Teresa Prados, for more details.

Members who agree to act as a BSI media expert are also eligible to attend our free media training days.

The Science Media Centre have produced a set of media guides for doctors and scientists on how to effectively communicate research to journalists and deal with common difficult questions.

Join our media expert list

The Society often receives requests for expert comment on news stories, feature articles or broadcast programmes. If you are a BSI member and are interested in joining our media expert list, please contact our press office.
