This online event will shine a spotlight on careers in immunology. The four speakers are all medically trained doctors who have chosen to specialise in immunology. The session (to be held on Zoom Webinar) aims to give medical students and Foundation Doctors a comprehensive introduction into this fascinating pathology specialty.

There will be two consultants and two registrars speaking at this event so the format is slightly different to previous webinars. The programme will be:

6pm –     Welcome and introductions
6.05pm – Dr Katie Townsend on her career and day to day work
6.15pm – Dr Anne Boulton on her career and day to day work
6.25pm – Prof Mohammed Yousuf Karim on his career and day to day work
6.35pm – Dr Betsy Cleave on her career and day to day work
6.45pm – Panel discussion and audience Q&A
7.20pm – One minute ‘elevator pitch’ about immunology from each speaker
7.25pm – Final remarks
7.30pm - close

Speakers at this webinar will cover:
•    What immunology is
•    Their personal journeys into immunology (education, training, PhD, post-doc etc)
•    What the speaker’s day-to-day work is like
•    Speaker’s current research (if any)
•    The contribution of immunology to medicine and healthcare.

This event is being run jointly by The Royal College of Pathologists, the Manchester Pathology Society and the Pathology Sub-Committee of the UCL Medical Society.
