New BSI-CIPN strategy launched

Front cover of the BSI-CIPN strategy plan 2024-2027

We're delighted to launch the first ever strategic plan for the BSI's Clinical Immunology Professional Network (BSI-CIPN), which sets the direction and priorities of the network for the next three years, from 2024–2027. Developed by the BSI-CIPN Steering Group, the strategy lays out how the BSI-CIPN will support its members, and the wider professional and patient community, to be a strong voice and advocate for clinical immunology.

As laid out in the strategic plan, the mission of the BSI-CIPN is to lead the delivery of excellence in patient care in clinical immunology, through three themes: education & training, advocacy & engagement, and research. The strategy explains how we plan to deliver across these three areas and the guiding principles we will follow to ensure the BSI-CIPN will be seen as the ‘go to’ organisation for matters relating to clinical immunology.

The priorities within the strategic plan will be delivered through the BSI value framework: ambitious and committed, evidence-based and responsible, collaborative and inclusive, agile and energetic.

The field of clinical immunology is of growing importance, and it plays a critical role in treating and understanding a vast breadth of conditions. This strategic plan for BSI-CIPN will help us drive forward our work to make a difference and improve patient care.

Professor Sinisa Savic, Chair of the BSI-CIPN

The BSI-CIPN is an integrated and impactful professional network, run by the BSI, for individuals working within clinical immunology. The network includes over 150 professionals working in the clinical immunology field, including consultant clinical immunologists, allergists, healthcare scientists, pharmacists and specialist nurses.

Our thanks go to the BSI-CIPN Steering Group and wider membership for all their input to developing this strategy and their expertise, dedication and commitment to the field of clinical immunology. We look forward to working with them to implement of this exciting plan for the benefit of clinical immunology.
